The Growing Space Learning

We are disabled people and families supporting our peers to live a full inclusive life in the community with choice and control.

Natalie H manages our TGS Learning ILC Project. She has a Bachelor of Nursing and has worked in Paediatrics and Community Nursing across Adelaide for close to 15 years. Natalie has two daughters who have NDIS plans. She also supports her father through his NDIS journey after having a Stroke. Natalie loves working with an amazing ILC team all with lived experience in disability to produce some awesome resources for the disability community. Stay tuned!

 Chantel B's work with The Growing Space includes co-designing and building NDIS-related workshops and e-learning resources through our ILC Learning project, and a newly created role to work to keep our clients safe from abuse, neglect and poor provider practises. She is a person with disability and is close to finishing a PhD at the University of South Australia on understanding how people living with disability experience inclusive policies within education. She is active in a range of advocacy activities in her community, and is passionate about people with disability living better lives through access and inclusion.

 Jocelyn N is a not very old person who lives with a significant physical disability. She loves her role within TGS Learning team, using her knowledge and supporting others to thrive in life and navigate the NDIS with confidence. An adventure seeker, jumping out of a plane, white-water rafting or swimming with sharks she is also passionate about advocating for equal opportunities, true inclusion and choice, especially education and sport. Jocelyn has been heavily involved in advocacy on a state and national level, has a background in medical science and is currently chasing down a law degree to further her work.

 Joanne C is working as Support Coordinator and is a member of our Learning team. She has a background in psychology and training, and offers The Growing Space and those we serve a unique perspective (and reminders to caption things!) as a blind woman. Her youth and energy (and exceptional tech skills) are very welcome on our team, as are her fluent spoken Chinese, Indonesian and Malay language and related cultural supports.

 Taryn W is an integral part of our TGS Learning team, has a background in local and state government communications and engagement, and loves finding ways to share knowledge and information. Her true skills lie in her DIY work, recently fixing both a broken wheelchair handle and a kitchen tap with zip ties.
